Eerie and mysterious, silent and beautiful, easy then difficult, all this and more in these canyons. Don't go in mid-summer unless you can bear a great deal of heat. Be prepared for silty water, flash floods, and scenery like no other. Bring your camera.  I just added New Mexico to this page after visiting Chaco Canyon (4/08).
