Oregon dunes with cascadia wild, may 2025
For many years, Cascadia Wild out of Portland, Oregon has worked to track animals in the Mount Hood National Forest for use by the US Forest Service, and one of those uses is to protect rare and endangered species. The work is done year-round, on foot, on snowshoes, and using game cameras set up and maintained by volunteers. CascadiaWild.org is always looking for new volunteers.
Every year the group goes to the Oregon Dunes to camp, socialize, and to roam the dunes with a pack of tracking nerds. Here are some photos from one of those trips. I should add that my wife and grandson were along on this one.
