Ecola State Park is just north of Cannon Beach, one of the most popular destinations on the coast.  I would put it in my Top Ten most beautiful state parks. The narrow and winding drive in is through a dense forest of fir and spruce, likely with some cedar mixed in.  It then opens on a large rolling grass and shrub area with a fairly large, but often crowded, parking lot.  The view is gorgeous.  The park includes nine miles of beach, secluded coves to hike to, surfing, tidepooling, picnicking, and more.  There are restrooms. There is considerable wildlife, and during migration, you may see whales moving by.
