Oswald West State Park is named after an Oregon governor from the early 1900s who established the coast highway (now 101) and began Oregon's move toward public access to all the beaches.  To get to the beaches in this park you will have to walk.  Paul and I chose to hike down to Short Sands Beach, which is much like it sounds,
