  • Sweden 2024

In the winter, december Into January, of 2024 our oregon family visited family in sweden

We spent Christmas along the east coast of Sweden, starting in Stockholm then driving north to Umeå.  We stayed in various AirB&B’s along the way.  Two were on the Gulf of Bothnia, which is loaded with inlets, bays, and islands.  A very nice body of water.  We visited Sigtuna, one of Sweden’s oldest towns and the site where many Vikings lived.  Then to Uppsala, a very nice college city, with a walkable (as cities tend to be here) downtown.  Next was Sundsvall where we stayed on a large island east of the city and visited our daughter-in-law’s very fine old friends for fika and dinner.  We will continue to move north, in the snow (snow is everywhere) to Umeå.
