After backpacking three prior times in the Canadian Rockies in September we finally figured out that September is well into the rainy season there, so this time we went in August.  And sure enough, it was like September in the Wyoming Rockies.   We knew this all along but resisted August due to crowds.  We didn't have that many people on this trail, that many rate one of the world's Top Ten.  We did only a section of it because we like to explore rather than backpacking each day for the week.  I had my first grizzly encounter on this trip.  Photo at the end of the slideshow, because it was on the last day.
