Silver falls is Oregon's largest state park and is amazing
I've hiked Silver Falls in all seasons but the best is winter, though it's wise to bring/wear some microspikes and to use trekking poles. The trails become very icy. Also, if there's lots of hanging ice and it's warming, don't hike. Huge chunks crash down. The next best times to go are fall after the rains begin or late spring before the rains dry up. During the summer the falls aren't nearly as powerful. It's not a bad idea to have at least a rain jacket along most of the time. There are shorter hikes and one, the Ten Falls Hike, that I recommend. It's a loop, a little less than 8 miles, with three big walk-behind falls. You can see the trail in the pics. There's a short video of one of the ice hikes (no music or yakking).
